Instructions

STEP ONE

Gather all supplies. Cut approximately 30 individual strings from the cotton mop head with scissors. Get them damp under running water, squeeze the excess water out and place in a gallon zipper bag.

STEP TWO

Squeeze orange acrylic craft paint into the bag, then zip it closed. Squish the paint into the cotton mop strings until they are all coated. Turn out the orange mop strings onto aluminum foil, and set aside to dry.

STEP THREE

To create the witch’s hat, create an upside down “V” with two jumbo craft sticks on your work surface, and secure with a glue gun and glue sticks. Add additional jumbo craft sticks along the length of the hat and attach with a glue gun and glue sticks. Trim the long ends with scissors. Flip hat over and glue one jumbo craft stick to the hat base to create the brim.

TIP: You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.

STEP FOUR

Basecoat the entire witch’s hat with black acrylic craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary.

STEP FIVE

Basecoat the wooden bead with muted light green acrylic craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary.

STEP SIX

Flip the witch hat over and attach 15 cotton mop head strings along the base of the bottom wooden craft stick with a glue gun and glue sticks. Glue 15 additional cotton mop head strings on a second layer.

STEP SEVEN

Glue the wooden ball to the top center of the witch’s beard, just under the hat brim.

STEP EIGHT

Attach purple gingham ribbon around the witch’s hat as the hat band with a glue gun and glue sticks.

STEP NINE

Download, Print and cut out the WITCH GNOME PATTERN. Trace onto yellow craft foam with a pencil, and then cut out with scissors. Attach the buckle to the center of the purple gingham ribbon with a glue gun and glue sticks.
